June 16th, 2024: The Central Library was both the venue and winner of the Linker Niederrhein Architecture Prize: on Sunday, June 16 at 12 noon, the awards were presented to the City of Mönchengladbach, the building management company gmmg and the architectural firm Schrammel. The targeted use of daylight as part of the extensive lighting concept was highlighted by the jury, as was the loyalty to the original character of the building, which was the guiding principle behind the modernization work.

In the meantime, the Central Library has also been awarded the NRW Architecture Prize and the German Light Design Prize 2024 - the corresponding award ceremony is to take place in Düsseldorf at the beginning of September.

Hepp-Schwamborn was responsible for the delivery and installation of the entire electrical engineering as part of the modernization work and is proud to have been involved in this extensive project.
